Clevedon Coastal

Open water coastal rowing and a British Rowing recognised GRI club

Clevedon Coastal Rowers is a club promoting all aspects of coastal rowing. The club is associated with the Welsh Sea Rowing Association and trains in a Celtic Longboat. Longer term the clubs ambitions are to offer the members access to varied coastal rowing craft either through acquisition by the club or association with other clubs

We take every opportunity to row in the waters around Clevedon in our own boats Ladye Elen No89 and Stann No 14. We also use Dirty Gertie No30, kindly on loan from Wisemans Bridge Rowing club who are being very supportive in helping us establish the club and sport in Clevedon.

Celtic Longboats are fixed seat rowing boats of glass fiber construction. The boats take 4 rowers and a cox. Easily maneuverable into the water by the crew only.

The clubs ambitions are to compete in the Welsh Sea Rowing leagues and to attend other coastal rowing competitive events in the south west and further afield.

Our calendar of events will also include social expeditions to visit and row in waters near and far.

The club competing at the 2019 Great River Race held on the Thames every year.
